Hand painted fused glass suncatcher of trees on colourful sunrise background, with coordinating organza ribbon for hanging.
Inspired by a lovely photo taken by a friend on Instagram.
The suncatcher looks especially effective in front of a light source or window but would also look great hung on a wall. The appearance and colours of this piece vary according to the light and time of day.
I created an original design for this piece. I started with a clear piece of glass and cut and ground the edges to give a roughly circular shape with an organic-type finish, drilling a hole for the ribbon. I coloured the glass with a range of glass powders to create a sunrise effect and fired it for the first time. Then I added the trees and foreground using enamel paint, in stages, before firing the piece once more.
These suncatchers are individually cut and painted, so may vary slightly from the photos. If you are placing an order and would like to see the actual suncatcher I will be sending out, I’ll be happy to send you a photo in advance.
